We are looking for a Space Manufacturing Technician to join the team!  In this role, you will fabricate, assemble, and test deployable structures and space system components with direction from engineering; work with engineers to troubleshoot and solve technical issues; assist engineers with designs; and provide feedback with respect to manufacturability.

 

We are looking for candidates that meet the following profile:

  • Due to security requirements, the candidate must be a Canadian or US citizen, or a permanent resident of Canada, and will be required to provide a criminal record check as a condition of employment.
  • College degree in Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering Technician or related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of related space or aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Certified in IPC-J-STD-001 Space Addendum, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC-A-620 would be an asset.
  • Familiar with technical drawings and schematics, and the various symbols, perspectives, units of measurement, notation systems, visual styles, and page layouts used in technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with inspection and test equipment such as calipers/micrometers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, etc.
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude and experience using a variety of manual and electronic equipment.
  • Experience with electrical and electronic fabrication, soldering, and wire harness assembly
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with ERP system (SAP Business One), is an asset.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with customers and working within a multi-disciplinary team of scientific, engineering, manufacturing, and management personnel.
  • Creative, self‐motivated, receptive to constructive feedback, and able to learn quickly on a continuous basis.
